Portfolio Night is the largest and most anticipated advertising portfolio review and recruitment event on earth. This year they presented a brand-new component to this global “speed dating for creatives” – the All-Stars program. One young creative from each city will be chosen by that city’s creative directors as the best of the best, and all 24 All-Stars will fly to New York to participate in a week-long creative challenge.
On the evening of May 21st, the Portfolio Night of Shanghai invited 24 Executive Creative Directors from agencies and companies in China including Ogilvy, McCann, JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi. They served as judges to review the work of and interview 60 young creatives.
The Portfolio Night provides young creatives with a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face with creative directors. They presented their works in 10 minutes and communicated with three creative judges on the spot. After scoring, the people with the top four highest scores entered the second round.
In the end, our own Chenwei Xu from School of Visual Arts MFA Design impressed all the judges with her outstanding work, she became the portfolio star that night and got a full sponsorship to go to New York for the finals in the summer. She will participate in a week-long creative challenge together with other stars from all over the world.
