Appalled by the lack of progress in existing swimming prosthetics, I studied the balance and counter-balance of marine life, as well as their streamline design and symmetry and aimed to make amputee swimmers more efficient and faster than flesh-and-bone swimmers. I determined that the best design for a transradial swimming prosthetic would be a neoprene shoulder garment with terminal fins on both arms for balance and symmetry.
