About the photos
Day 2 – May 25:
Carlo Branzaglia, Coordinator of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts, Bologna, gave a history of Italian graphic design from the Renaissance to Post-Modernism in just under 45 minutes. And it was not just concise, but totally insightful. Afterwards Louise Fili followed with the first lecture of Italian typographic inspirations. Workshop participants then climbed the Magical Mystery Tour bus to Fabrica for a visit and lecture by Omar Vulpinari, Creative Director of the Visual Communications department. This beautiful facility has a relatively recent addition designed in a neo-classical style by Tadao Ando. The tour was followed by “O Say Can You See: Who Put the O in Obama,” a talk by Steve Heller with jokes galore. The day concluded with a cocktail reception/mixer with our participants and Fabrica students and faculty.
