In an attempt to show appreciate to the New York City Department of Sanitation, I created personalized gloves for each member of the North Brooklyn Branch. Each pair has embroidered patches of a DSNY employee triumphantly holding a garbage bag and gives recognition to New York’s strongest.
With the support of Stefan Sagmeister and Jamie Prokell, I was able to get funding to produce this project and make a pair for each of the 135 employees. I learned how wonderful it is to recognize people whose services are often taken for granted. One recipient expressed how no one had ever done anything this nice for them before and kissed me on the cheek. It was a huge success.
