Park At The Met

Feb 13 2015

By Esther Ro Schofield

Last Friday, Lita and I had the pleasure of meeting MFAD alumnus Kevin Park (’01) for lunch at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Kevin, who has been working at the museum since graduating, is currently the Senior Design and Production Manager in the Department of Digital Media. He is also the sole donator to the Park Family Scholarship, an award given to selected MFA Design thesis students of Asian decent.

At the MET, we were able to tour it’s secret chambers accessed only through the cordoned off staff-only elevators. Kevin’s department manages everything from the museum’s website and app to videos and interactive media for exhibitions.

After the tour, we dined at one of seven private lounges, a nice perk available only to museum members and staff.

We were very excited to have this insider’s peek of the MET and our First-Year students will be in for a very special studio visit with Kevin in April.
