Tomas de Carcer (MFAD 14) is an Adobe Design Achievement Award finalist for The Infinite Adventure of Candide, an app video game based on the concept of collaboration between players directed by a “Master” who must have an iPad.
Interaction is inspired by the game play of role games and LARP. The app challenges the users with a form of scavenger hunt to collect missing elements of a story in order to complete it. The fun lies in the interaction between real life “hunting” of objects and a video game platform that connects the players and ultimately generates a unique mixed media version of the tale of Candide. The only requirement is that it has to be played with a group of people up to 6. The creativity and imaginations of the players will determine how much fun they have and how entertaining the video story winds up being.
Winners will be announced on November 19.
