Posters by Aimee Chang
The 2024 Milton Glaser Lecture Series welcomes Jeffrey Everett (Class of 2004) to discuss his work with our students this Fall. He is a designer, illustrator, and author working outside of Washington, DC. He has worked with Popes, Presidents, Punks, and Pro-Wrestlers during his long career.
Jeffrey has created designs for such bands as Joan Jett, Social Distortion, Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette, The Decemberists, Flight of the Conchords, Blondie, Gaslight, Anthem, Lou Reed, and The Bouncing Souls. He has created work for companies such as Red Bull, Simon and Schuster, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Universal Records, LiveNation, Dreamworks, and more. He has worked with five world champion pro-wrestlers as well as tackled pandemics with Dr. Anthony Fauci at The National Institutes of Health where he serves as an Art Director in the Medical Art Branch.
Jeffrey’s new book, Let It Bleed, collects over 350 award-winning concert posters over his twenty-year career. It was fully funded on Kickstarter in under two hours and has shipped worldwide to eager collectors. To check out his book, visit www.let-it-bleed.com.
Jeffrey is excited to come back to talk about design and illustration at The School of Visual Arts where he earned his MFA in Design two decades ago. Milton Glaser called a young Jeffrey “clever” which he learned was not a compliment, apparently.

In Jeffrey, I see a new definition of success. I hope to follow my heart like he does and refuse to make decisions that go against my inner self. I want to find the field I truly love, or what I would consider true “success.” – Ying Ying, Class of 2026
It’s inspiring to see a designer who prioritizes authenticity and doesn’t shy away from risks, as that’s often a challenge when collaborating with clients or working within specific constraints. – Lily She, Class of 2026
