To conclude James Clough’s master lettering “lessons” on the essence of Roman type and typography, workshop students spend over six hours drawing and redrawing ancient type. The turned them into what Clough calls “typographic ideas,” which are translations of the original Bembo into more contemporary “illustrations” of aphorisms, quotations and phrase.
