A Multitude of Signs
By Laura Palese
After class on Monday, a group of us wandered the streets of Rome in search of the Pasta Museum. The collective thought was: “If we’re planing on consuming one type of food for 14 consecutive days, we ought to at least familiarize ourselves with a bit of its history.” Sadly, we found that the museum had long ago shut it’s doors (and also disappeared without a visible trace). But what we did find along the way (in addition to gelato, of course) was a multitude of amazing signs.
I spotted this “tipografia” sign, only to turn around and see that we’d all simultaneously stopped to photograph it! As we stood there happily gazing at our find, I thought, how amazing to be among a group of people just as nerdy about type as I am! I can’t wait to see what else we find.
