Where are you located, and what are you working on right now?

I’m currently located in Brooklyn, NYC. After I graduated from SVA in 2016, I worked as a graphic designer for American fashion brand J.CREW, and then as a creative director for La Mer, a luxury skincare brand, which I am still currently doing. My responsibilities involve creating visual concepts for the brand’s campaigns, directing promotional films and photoshoots, overseeing the production and ensuring that my vision is accurately executed.

Besides my day job, I am also working on my own brand, PREM, which offers home goods, designed by Thai designers and handcrafted by Thai artisans.

I have been working on PREM since 2015, as it was my Thesis project at MFA Design. Fast forward to 2024 and I am very proud to announce that PREM’s debut collection finally launched in April.

What impact has SVA MFA Design had on your career?

MFA Design equipped me with the knowledge and skills to pursue my career in the creative industry. It granted me access to incredible connections with creative talents and professionals across New York City.

It is also the very place where my venture was born. PREM was my thesis project when I graduated and I have been working on bringing it to a reality ever since. I fundamentally believe that Design is a tool to enhance life and its possibilities. That is what I am trying to achieve with PREM. We design products that, beyond their practicality, essentially bring happiness not only to the customers but also to the people who make them. I hope that PREM can impact society positively through this empowerment cycle.

Has your thesis influenced your work in any way?

That would be an understatement: at this point, my thesis IS my work. It has been a long journey since I graduated in 2016. And yet, the thesis was just the beginning. I have been learning so much from real experience trying to launch this venture. Collaborating with Thai artisans to make PREM’s first collection has been one of the most precious experiences of my life. Our debut collection features handwoven cotton textile from Sakhon Nakorn, Thailand – handcrafted by a group of women artisans.

Part of the profit will go back to the artisans to support their goals and help them further explore their potential.
