What are you doing professionally?

I am a Design Director at FCB Global.

One of the perks of working at a global agency network is that I get to work with great minds around the world and I participate in global pitches. It is challenging to work with people I’ve never even met before, to produce massive amount of work in such a short period of time. However, it is always interesting to see how people in different countries think.

How do you stay inspired?

Inspiration is everywhere: a line of dialog from a movie, a color combination from a nicely served dish, graphics on t-shirts, lyrics from rap songs, the composition of product photographs, etc.

Also, it is always inspiring and exhilarating to attend award shows: The One ShowThe Annual ADC Awards, etc. You learn there are many brilliant people around the world.

What design trends do you love?

Simplicity & Symmetry are never out of trend. As a designer, my ultimate goal is to deliver a message as clearly as possible. The way I like to design is to keep it concise and clean.

Any call to action?

If you like bicycle, sneakers & Supreme.

What advice would you give incoming students?

You can’t be good at everything. But for the projects you love, give 200%!

Be immature – let the kid in you be a kid.

What impact has SVA MFA Design had on your career?

Projects that I gave 200% of my efforts – one of them being “4 Sets of 200 Sit-ups” – literally led me to my first job. The projects I did in my first job led me to the next job, then again and again.

How has the program’s multidisciplinary approach helped you?

Someone once referred me as the Swiss Army Knifeof the agency, because I was able to execute projects in various mediums. Having ability or knowledge of different skills and software will certainly elevates your value and leads to many opportunities.
