Alumni Win SND Award

Mar 31 2014

The Society of News Design (SND) named Nautilus (art director: Len Small MFAD ’08) as one of the 2013 World’s Best-Designed news sites and apps, along with NY Times, Al Jazeera, and WNYC.

Francesco Izzo (MFAD ’13), who has been on the Nautilus design team since the fall, lead the mobile site design. SND writes “the mobile-specific version is treated with equal care. It is touch-friendly and delightful on every device we tried. Nautilus should be held up as an example, particularly to other niche-journalism publications.” The website was built by Code & Theory along with the Nautilus creative team.

Each month Nautilus chooses a single topic and each Thursday publishes a new chapter on that topic online. Each issue combines the sciences, culture and philosophy into a single story told by the world’s leading thinkers and writers.
