Design’s power as a means of communication and a visual language fascinates me.
Early in my career, I worked in the magazine industry prior to the onslaught of the digital revolution. It was an exhilarating time where budgets for photoshoots could easily surpass a year’s salary, and I found it delightful to create imaginative solutions supported by big budgets. In my last position as the Art Director at InStyle Special Issues, I thrived in a collaborative environment as a member of ambitious team of high performers. Since then, I have worked privately and independently with clients to resolve diverse design challenges, and I enjoy teaching students as an adjunct professor in the art department at CCNY.
Today is an exciting time for design; visual communication permeates our daily lives. It is vital for designers to invest in and develop new skills and a deeper, more critical thought process to design original, meaningful and effective communications.
