Guest Lecturer: Julia Ames

To launch the Fall 2023 Milton Glaser Lecture Series, we have invited Julia Ames (MFAD Class of 2005) to discuss her work. Ames is a Washington, D.C.-based strategic creative leader who transforms brand strategy into bold, engaging campaigns across multiple sectors while growing a million-dollar design agency. After two decades of developing and leading diverse teams. She is the CEO of Humankind Studio which she founded in 2008.
Humankind Studio crafts impactful brand identities and campaigns for a diverse clientele, including Fortune 500 companies and nonprofits. Her studio specializes in a wide range of creative services, from brand strategy and naming to multimedia and installations. A multifaceted talent, she also teaches at Corcoran School of Art. Outside of her professional sphere, Julia is dedicated to uplifting breast cancer survivors and taking adventures with her tiny but mighty family.
