Guinto Giorno: Mauro’s Walk and Talk

On Friday, Mauro Zennaro, our Roman epigraphic, typographic and calligraphic master, began the day with a talk about Baroque inscriptions and Church icongraphy. Before walking to Piazza del Popolo, he brought the students to Biblioteca Angelica, the first public library in Europe, where SVA Workshop participants were allowed to touch such old and treasured books as Giambattista Bodoni’s Manuale Tipografico and  volumes printed by Aldus Manutius.
