Meet the Class of 2011

Oct 15 2009

Meet: Wes Gott

From: New York via Atlanta

Design Speciality: typography, books, graphic explosions.

Why grad school: I am here to refine my process for thinking, making, and talking about design. I hope to learn to find the good ideas faster.

Favorite work: This keeps changing but I like this book jacket redesign for The Picture of Dorian Gray. I hand-painted the type to allude to both paint and blood, which suggests how Dorian’s life—and eventual death—became dependent on his portrait. I think that my solution is worthy of this dark and gruesome classic.
