Meet the Class of 2012: Bruno Zalum
Meet our MFA Design candidates for 2012. We asked them to answer the following:
1. What was noteworthy about your first year at MFAD?
2. What is your favorite NYC experience?
3. What was your favorite assignment was from first year?
Here are Bruno Zalum’s responses:
1. First year at MFAD was phenomenal. Definitely the most stimulating, fun and sleepless year in my life! It transformed me from a simple graphic designer into a responsible design thinker, entrepreneur, active man and dreamer.
2. Living in NYC: it’s like Christmas every day! The city took me under her wing the minute I landed, and I am awed every day by at least one sensational thing. My favorite experience is to put on my headphones and bike around the island.
3. It’s hard to choose one favorite project, because I always had a lot of fun designing – almost – each one of them! Kevin O’Callaghan’s “Off-Course” exhibition project was definitely a special one because I got to produce my first installation. It’s so rewarding to do a monumental physical piece from scratch in few weeks. The project is an upside-down mini-golf course for Barophobics, people who are afraid of Gravity.
