Meet our MFA Design candidates for 2012. We asked them to answer the following:
1. What was noteworthy about your first year at MFAD?
2. What is your favorite NYC experience?
3. What was your favorite assignment was from first year?
Here are Sebastian Ebarb’s responses:
1. The MFA program has been perhaps one of the most challenging experiences I have ever taken on, but their is no place I would rather be.
2. I have lived here my whole life, every moment is my favorite experience, this is the best city on earth.
3. Andy Pratt asked us to create a new kind of online experience for any audience we wanted. I answered with Lexia. Lexia is a website dedicated to helping those with dyslexia. By taking a realistic look at dyslexia, the site focuses on several key overlooked areas that hold potential to help dyslexic individuals. This site features in-depth solutions from actual dyslexics, a Twitter feed, and a mentorship program intended to bolster self-esteem and enhance coping skills. At Lexia, new media has been coupled with traditional media to create a fresh and interesting information-sharing community for dyslexics. You can see more at SebastianEbarb.com.
