Meet the Class of 2013: Cecil Mariani
Cecil Mariani came from the future. She flew from Jakarta, Indonesia 12 hours ahead New York. Before she went through the time traveling distance, she worked at Komunitas Salihara, a cultural center in Jakarta. Driven by her love and engagement to improve Art and cultural field in Indonesia she fund-raised her way to SVA MFAD through her ‘notebooks with a cause’ project.
She believes that her choice during the next two years to be “in the SVA time zone” will enable her to transform her future design practice beyond 12 hours ahead of her time.

“This timeline is for Milton Glaser’s assignment on my personal artistic influence. I used paper as an element of the timeline indicating the outcome of my expression and works that mostly has to do with paper and also some ruled paper to suggest noted events and life learning periods.”
