Meet The Class of 2013: Shawn Sprockett

Sep 08 2011

Shawn Sprockett split most of his life between the rust belt of northeast Ohio and the sunshine of central Florida. He was raised by a human resources director with a photography hobby and a newsletter editor whose instincts about editorial design launched a magazine and career. Shawn has his BA in International Relations from Florida International University in Miami, where artists, activists, and instructional designers shaped his early interest in design.

Favorite work:
“Inspired by the documentary ‘Countdown to Zero,’ this graphic was part of a project that spread awareness about the threat of nuclear weapons. It promotes the idea of a post-nuclear world, where weapons of mass destruction are eliminated voluntarily by all nations. A clean, almost clinical, design helped focus on the message, which was more about factual persuasion than emotional muckraking.”
