Our Day Off Part 1

Jun 03 2012

Photos of Duomo, Best Sign and Best View by Elizabeth Feeney.

This Sunday afternoon Dominique Falla and I took a day trip to Florence – we had never been there before. Our first stop was the Duomo, which was completed in 1436 and has the largest brick dome ever constructed. If you walk up the 463 steps you can see the beautiful Tuscan rolling hills.

On the way to our next stop, The Uffizi, we noticed the amazing signage around us (below middle).

The Uffizi is one of the worlds oldest museums. There were endless rooms of sculptures, paintings and tapestries. The most amazing thing there was, of course, Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”.

Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take photos, so you’ll all have to go there in person!
