The portfolio review for admission into the MFA Design program at SVA is a pivotal step in curating our next wave of creative minds. This year, a seven member panel – including top instructors and distinguished alumni, along with our department co-chairs – deliberately evaluated each submission.

Their focus? To spot candidates who blend technical prowess with creative spark, aligning with the department’s vision. The outstanding caliber of entries made selections tough, showcasing the exceptional talent vying for a spot. From this rigorous review, we’ve shortlisted candidates for interviews, aiming to discover those who not only have a compelling creative voice but are also eager to grow and enrich our dynamic academic community. This process is more than just a review; it’s about shaping the future of design.

The panel included Steve Heller, Lita Talarico, Mira Khandpur, Justin Colt, Tim Cohan, Sue Walsh, and Warren Lehrer, with Veronika Golova assisting.
