Meet Alexandra Mooney, one of our MFAD Class of 2023 students.

Hometown: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Alexandra is originally from Canada but moved to the US to go to RISD, and then stayed for an additional 13 years in New York to work as an Art Director in magazines. “New York definitely feels like home and I couldn’t be more excited to get my MFA from one of the greatest schools in the world – that happens to be in the city I love.”

Featured Work:
“I wanted to redesign a Maya Lin book to reflect elements of her work through typography/letterforms, rather than using just a photo of her work. I built the letters of her name out of layered paper – both stacked up and sunken in. It references her 3D topographic map work.”
