Student Spotlight: Emily Barrington

Meet Emily Barrington, one of our MFAD Class of 2023 students.

Hometown: Melbourne, Australia

Emily is a multidisciplinary designer with a profound interest in visual identity, typography, UX/UI, and motion graphics. She views design as a language that can connect cultures and enrich people’s lives for a more meaningful and responsible world. Above else, she aims to leverage the power of creativity to create content that is individual, inspiring, and impactful. She joined this program to better engage design with entrepreneurship.

Featured Work:
This is a snippet from her accordion book “Connection” which explores themes of transparency, identity, and truthfulness. It intends to spotlight how social media has opened a gateway for the emergence of a second self. It is a visual illustration of how we mentally disconnect ourselves on the Internet.
