Meet Nicolette Francis, one of our MFAD Class of 2024 students.

Hometown:  Bronx, New York

Nicolette has created her own brand Daculture that represents the very essence of her work; the complex spectrum that is Black culture. She strives to inspire others with what moves her: pop culture, color, and social change. Being a born and bred New Yorker definitely influences her art process. The beauty, unity, and people of New York are the highlights of her work.

SIS typeface focuses on the women of the Black Panther Party. SIS is designed to share the lives of these panther women. Dialogue from Reconsidered by Charles R. Jones, lays over each letter describing how the women were unfairly treated within the Black Panther Party.
