Student Spotlight: Stella Filipov

Apr 07 2022

Meet Stella Filipov, one of our MFAD Class of 2023 students.

Hometown: Jacksonville, FL, United States

Stella is a Bulgarian-American graphic and multimedia designer that holds a BFA in Graphic Design & Digital Media and a minor in Computer Science from the University of North Florida. She is inspired by the intersection of art with science, politics, and culture. She focuses on creating visual experiences that redistribute power and wonder and her work is known for its research, strategy, and powerful impact.

Featured Work:
Project Plie is the American Ballet Theatre’s diversity and inclusion initiative, which involves workshops, scholarships, internships, teacher training, and more. Because of the Project Plie’s extensive components on the main ABT website, an independent website and fundraising event collateral could make the content more accessible. The highlight of the collateral is a modern, elegant identity, and Misty Copeland, who in 2015 became the first African American ballet dancer to be promoted to principal dancer, the highest position in a ballet company.

Check out Stella’s design Instagram profile (@sfil.design) and website to view more of her work, or connect with her on LinkedIn.
