From Lion Brand Yarn Studio website: “The Subway Fiberphile Project is a way to strengthen the community of fiber lovers who knit and crochet while riding the subway. The project was conceived as part of the ‘Design Can Touch Someone’s Heart’ class in the MFA Design program at the School of Visual Arts. Jennie Glaser, a student in the class, designed buttons for subway knitters and crocheters to wear so they can identify each other even when their needles or hooks are put away. Jennie has dropped off 100 handmade buttons to the Lion Brand Yarn Studio.”
