Every year, SxSW promises to be an inspiring celebration of human ingenuity. This year’s conference was particularly invigorating, with such powerhouses as Christiane Amanpour and Elon Musk among many others.

SVA hosted an Alumni Cocktail reception and I met with MFAD alums Sylvia Villada and Camille McMorrow, both from the class of 2012, who shared the latest in their lives with me. Sylvia is currently teaching at St. Edward’s University in Austin, working on children’s books, and designing apparel for young boys. Camille is working at Google designing for AI, and pregnant with twins due in a few weeks!  We were also joined by Laura Des Enfants, partner at D’NA, who produces the MFA Design Venture Forum. Laura, by the way, has attended every single thesis presentation since the first one in 2000.
