Tough Love is a magazine that explores humans and human behavior in relation to love. Love might seem like a cheesy and generic theme for a magazine, but Tough Love isn’t about everyday romance. The topics within the magazine range from political conversation-starters to horoscopes; quirky interviews with psychotherapists to questioning whether pheromones actually exist. We spend our lives hoping to find love, so why not try to understand it? Given the eclectic topics, I wanted to design a system that was flexible enough to work for something as fun as an astrology chart, but also sober enough to work for an article about genetics.
